I will be starting a Training Journal as an Olympic Weightlifter out of Rochester MN. I have been competitively lifting for a little over 2 years now and wrestled for many years, as well as in college, before that.
I compete in the 77kg weight class and have recently qualified for the American Open, a national meet in December. At my most recent meet I snatched 110kgs, 242 lbs, and clean and jerked 140kgs, 308lbs.
Next competition is in Oct. at the Twin Cities Open, in Northfield MN. I training 4 days a week, and have 2 sessions of training each of those days. Most often I also get an optional meet on the weekend.
Hope this actually gets some views, and if anyone has any questions about me, lifting, or anything else let me know.
OUT.

yeah this 250 total put me about in the top 10 of the nation for my weightclass. I feel that the 260 would allow me to compete a little better at the American Open in Dec.

Monday this coming week will be what we could call a "peak week," weight goes up reps come down. Snatch numbers look like 105 X 2 for 3 sets. Clean & Jerk 130 X 2 for 3 sets. The squat numbers are also up. My elbow has been acting up a bunch, feels a lot like a bruised bone on my elbow, like when i bend it fully or extend all the way there is sharp pain. I just hope it's not a ligament. Other than that, the body is feeling great. Ready to rock this week. Then almost a month away to what I have been working for, for 3 months... TC Open.

Ok, To help clarify how I work my workouts...
4 days a week, I lift 2 sessions (Morning and Afternoon) My first sessions is mostly comprised of Oly lifts and partial movments.
ie- Today 8/24/09 SNATCHED-60x3, 70x3, 80x3, 91x2, 105x2, 105x2, 105x2 top sets were a beast, first one felt great second felt like trying to lift an elephant. HANG SNATCH- 60x3, 70x3, 80x3, 90x2, 100x2, 100x2 I always feel stronger with Hang Snatch, I think my 1st pull (from the floor) is off. SNATCH PULLS- 100x3, 110x3, 115x3 Finish with Low Back work and Core Work.
My second workout will consist of Strength Movements, Back Squat, RDL, Maybe Snatch Balance. Top sets for Backs will be 162 for 3's. 3 sets. My leg strength needs to get better, but it is what it is.
On the topic of my elbow, I have been told by a credible source in the gym, it's probably tendonitis. Which is good and bad. Stupid having to rest things so they can get heal...
I'll let you guys know how the week continues.
Dreams only get you so far...

Awesome job on the snatches... A PR sounds like it is coming at the TC Open. That looks like a tremendous program too.
