see. I missed the 2 posts before v deck's when it came on a new page.
Yeah. wed. morning workouts with the team are insane. I seriously thought my heart was going to just jump out my throat and onto the field. I tweaked my knee a tiny bit yesterday so didn't wrestle today.. just wanted to do straight conditioning and not move in awkward positions on my knee. Will wrestle hard tomorrow afternoon. BW is not moving down at all- I really need to kick it into high gear... and stop eating like I am a strongman haha

do you mind getting punched in the face or body? Do you have a high pain threshold?

Don't mind it too much to be honest. Of course some people's punches are pry different than the ones I have taken.
I believe I have a high pain threshold. When it comes to workouts like I'm doing lately(and wrestling practice), I'd rather die than I'd quit. When you go places mentally in these kind of workouts it makes continuing easy. I don't even have to think twice.

The reason I ask. There is a good mma training center in Winona. Wth your natural ability for grappling, strength and athleticism have you ever considered pursuing fighting?

I have honestly never really considered fighting. I fell in love with lifting weights back in jr. high, and strongman after high school. Maybe I will have a different outlook after my wrestling career is over but as of right now I am really enjoying wrestling. Yeah... I know my body is wondering if I am retarded. Back in like april I was 290... now its september and I am trying to get to 197. Insane. My body wants to be about 230 I feel- I just have to teach it otherwise and reeducate it on the fact it should be 197

There is no wrestling after college. I'm just saying, if start prepping now you may have a grappling career waiting for you two years from now

You are absolutely right, there really is no career after college unless you are the best of the best. even then no $ is really involved. I wrestle because I love the sport. I have done it since Pre-School(4 years old) and its pretty hard to explain why I do it, but its what I want to do at this point.
Sure there may be no fame or $ in college wrestling(esp. at the d.3 level), but I'm in it to prove some things to myself, and because I love to compete and I love the sport. I am wrestling in college with the understanding that college IS it for me. I know that. I came back to the sport because I feel I haven't accomplished everything I could.
Down the road- it may be an option, yes. However, right now I feel I have a long way to go to be competitive at the college level in wrestling so that is why I am focused on that. You are right, in the offseasons I could do some boxing and hand work to change up workouts and to get a small start.. That is a great idea and may take it into consideration this offseason. But, its only the preseason of wrestling. so you can pry understand why the offseason seems a million miles away.
