ha... You could at least lie and say 180kg or something manly. I think you need to go do something manly (snickers commercials) like rip off some chest hair or change your oil... Just a thought haha!

Thurs 5/13: Meet at USA
Last night was a crazy, frustrating, and motivating all together. Crazy because I was so, so close to qualifying for Nationals, so close I could taste it. Frustrating bc I was so close and missed my 3rd attempt of c&j on the jerk, which are usually solid for me. And lastly motivating bc I learned that I am capable of doing more than I thought. I just need to fine tune some things here and there, and I'll be on my way up the ladder, increasing my total step by step. I also discovered a side of me that hasnt been released in a while, a side of me that is determined, dedicated, and focused on an event or situation at hand. It was a great feeling to have that drive again! I'm sure everyones had that feeling, that fire that burns inside that lights the fuse to accomplish great things, and if you are one of the unlucky ones that havent felt this, you're missing out on something special. I think this meet has opened my eyes to what I am capable of doing and ignited my inner fire to fight and train day in and day out to do something special.
Meet wise, I opened up at 98 for snatch and had it stuck and lost it standing up, bumped up to 102 for my 2nd attempt, missed it badly, and stuck it on my 3rd attempt. 98x, 102x ,102 C&J i needed to hit 142 to qualify, I bumped my opener up from 132 to 139. I stuck 135 in the warmup room, which boosted my confidence. 1st attempt, 139, clean was easy but before the jerk i started to get light headed and rushed into the jerk b4 I could become more light headed and missed it. bumped up to 142 for my 2nd attempt, giving myself 2 shots at my qualifying weight. 1st attempt at 142 was ugly, missed the clean all together. it came down to the 3rd attempt again, like the snatch did. Nothing in the room last night could have distracted me from doing what I set out to accomplish. the clean was clean and fair easy, i thought to myself "the hard part is done, stick this jerk, u got this", well that wasnt the case at all. the jerk was a little forward and i wasnt able to save it. 139x, 142x, 142x
even though i walked out of that comp last night not qualified for nationals, i still walked out of there with my head held high. I know what i need to do and work on, and most inportantly i know what i am capable of doing. i wont accept anything but gains from here on out.
Find that fire inside and LIGHT THAT FUSE!!

Great attitude. I am good to see you have that perspective about it. There's no sense in moaping around about it and feeling sorry for yourself! I like your attitude

I agree. Good job pulling it together on the snatches (that same thing happened to me at my last meet, and it was nerve-wracking). Do you have another chance to qualify?
