I've been dealing with a slight chest injury for the last week which resulted in a weeks worth of shit workouts. However, yesterday was one of the best workouts I've had in a long time. Our whole crew lifted heavy, explosive and at a fast pace.
Banded Box Squat (Blue bands) 322 for doubles. six sets.
Banded Dead (on a 2" plate) 365x1 six sets
Back Squat 135x10 two sets 185x10 pause at bottom
Rev. Hyper. 230x10 2 sets 320x10
GHR 15 three sets
Ab work.

Quad City Contest (Silver) Over Head Medley Barbell 205 8" log 220 Axle 230 12" log 250 2nd place by .5 seconds
Farmers 240 80' Half the competitors went up hill and half went down. I went up hill... 1st place by hundreds of a second.
Duck walk 200/50' Sledge drag 350/50' Fell down hard on top of the duck walk implement. 2nd place
Truck Pull 100' Ribs and chest hurt pretty bad and thought about throwing in the towel. Colin "Bear Bryant" Wetlaufer kept me focused and motivated. 5th place
Stone over bar 240/48" Going into this event I thought I was in second so this was a must win. Luckily the running order never changed and the 1st place guy went right before me. He got 13 reps. If I was going to win I would have to get 14. At 30 seconds I was on pace for 16 reps but ran out of gas and only ended up getting 12. Tied for 2nd
So I had placed 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 5th, and tied for 2nd. Nick Graham had gotten 1st in overhead, carry/drag medley and stones. I wasn't sure his places on the other two events but I thought he did well enough to win overall. Turns out I beat him by just half a point. 1st overall I got pretty lucky this time. Nick preformed very smooth and accurate where I did the opposite. I dropped the Axle which cost me 1st place. I fell on the carry/pull medley which cost me first place, and I dropped a stone which cost me a first place tie. If I would of just not messed up I would of had 4 first places and a 5th place. But that's part of competing. You can be the strongest guy there but if you can't take the pressure you'll bomb!
