I Am not sure if you are looking for critiques of the video...but I'd love to critique it Some ppl don't want suggestions, so I wanted to ask before I just went on a rant about your technique..

I'll take all the help I can get, especially from someone getting all the good technique help over at CalStrength.

There is no team, even Cal strength, that is going to fix your tech. for you. I have completely fixed my own for the most part. About 99% of it anyway are tweaks I Have made. Just saying...
You PULL backwards all the way. You are PULLING. you need to be PUSHING STRAIGHT thru the ground. Instead you are pulling, and your back and head follow, so do the bar. you need to push your heels thru the floor, with a quick pop at the hips and drop under. You are ALWAYS behind the bar, giving you no pop at the top either, and what pop u do get goes straight backwardes on the bar, sending u 6" backwards, and the bar that far as well. IF u can get that power to go straight up we're talking 120 snatch.
Push thru the floor w your heels, pop and drop. that's it.

Jared - Thanks for answering my question about straps. I'm not Elite so I would say I should only be using them when my hands are torn up. That is the SECOND time someone has mentioned using straps all the time when you reach the ELITE level.
2.8.11 Snatch- up to 95, couple attempts at 100 Clean- 130 Deadlift - 180
The deadlift was a response to watching that Clarence guy snatch 120 on youtube recently. the 120 was so easy and he weighed around 79. so I asked myself what's this guy got that I don't have? well he also posted a 190 back squat and a 212.5 deadlift recently. The guy has an abundance of absolute strength. So, today I was checking where my deadlift was at. I aslo tried 190, it wasn't far off.

I do believe there is a certain amount of "base" strength someone needs from a "general" strength training program in order to be successful. You HAVE to be strong to be a great weightlifter...ppl think oh its just snatch and cj you have to be strong at. Yeah, but, you won't be strong in those if you can't squat worth a crap or if ya don't have a good strength training background. Strong is strong.

Clarence from Ireland 110 power snatch, 160 clean and 200 back squat www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9LZ5q4EovE&feature=feeduMan this guy is exploding on the scene. I mean you just don't see improvement this fast. He only does snatches, clean and jerks and back squats, no front squats.
