Let me get this straight, you don't know who Sparks is but you DO love the movie Running Man? Suzanne is getting a lecture on how to be cool when she gets home.
Ben Richards, the butcher of Bakersfield. I'd buy that for a dollar I like my men big, strong and cuddly. SUB ZERO! Hey Christmas tree!
And Richard Dawson

^^I'm just chalking that one up to Roz being crazy. You know, I saw a docu about how all of Black River Falls went crazy. Think about it...
Anyhoo, snatches were snatchtastically consistent, especially after I stopped overpulling the light ones. I am looking forward to really pushing these some time soon. Tested my back squat and HOT DIGGITY I added 7 kg (90-->97kg)! Granted, the last time I checked it was December.
Snatch: triples up to 45x1F1, 43x3, 45x3,3,3 Bk Sq: 40x3, 60x2, 70x2, 80x2, 85x1, 90x1, 95x1 (PR), 97x1 (PR), 100xF Blk Jerk: triples up to 55x3, 60x2, 63xFF1, 60x2,2,2
Jerks...oh jerks. Sort of pulled it together on the end, but 63 was damn heavy after those squats. Looked back at my records and realized my jerk PR is only 68, not 70 (70 for cleans). I need to stop being a huge sissy and get under the bar.
You know what will help? BBQ steak and broccoli for dinner. Oh yes, it will.

Oh yeah, and Roger talked me out of starting the squat program again. He doesn't like how it forces you to do a light day even if you feel all Hulked out or a heavy day if you feel like crappo. He has a good point, especially since my hip started bugging me toward the end of the program last time.
I guess now I've seen the benefits of squatting heavy (I had something like 10 PRs while on it, and no one even thought I could finish it because I was doing FSq instead of BSq), so I don't need a program to make me do it.

Three hours of sleep and leftover pizza for breakfast is not a recipe for success...or is it?! My workout started terribly with missed snatches all over the place. My main problem was being sluggish and not completing the pull with my arms at the top. BUT I pulled it together later and hit a jerk PR (added 1 kg 68-->69)! Snatch: up to 45x1, 47x1, 49xF,1, 51x1, 52xF,F, 50xF,F, 45xF wtf?! C&J: up to 55x1, 60x1, 63x1, 65x1, 67x1, 69x1(jerk PR!) OH Sq: (snatch grip) 35x3, 45x3, 50x3,3,3,3,3 (clean grip) 35x3, 40x3, 45x3, 50x3,3,3
I had never tried clean grip OHS before, and they were fun (in a good-for-me kind of way)! I rarely do OHS or power jerks, so I'll probably be fairly sore in the shoulders tomorrow. Today's was a long workout, but I think I was half-asleep for the first 45 minutes or so, so it doesn't count I think instead of a squat program, I'm just going to rotate between FS, BS, and OHS, emphasis on the FS.

Thanks! I went to bed at 2, which wouldn't have been too bad if I'd been able to sleep until 10 as planned, but between the dog barking, the damn cheerful springtime birds chirping, and my BF tossing and turning, I didn't get much sleep after 5-ish. I'm a crappy sleeper anyway.

It didn't do much for me in the past, but I think there's more info out there about how to use it these days, so I should try it again.
Today I learned how to throw a football ;D, which I'm sure all you strong athletic dudes learned when you were 3, but is a big deal to me. There's so much more stuff that I am willing to try and keep on trying until I improve since I've started weightlifting. Also, my coordination and body awareness is much, much better. It's a good feeling when the list of things I can't do gets smaller.
Anyhoo, I'm just going to sit here and wait until the world stops spinning from all the Easter candy.

Coming down with a cold today, and I also have a pre-existing condition known as being female. Resulting workout was so-so. Snatch: doubles up to 46x2, 48x2, 50x1f, 1f, 1ff, fff, 48x2, 2 C&J: up to 60x1, 63x1, 65xf, 65xC+f, 63xC+f, C+f, 60xC+f, C+f Bk Sq: up to 70x3, 80x3, 85x3, 87x3, 89x3, 87x2, 80x5 Even though the snatches fell apart on the multiple reps, they were looking good when I got the lifts. C&J...argh I'm back to screwing up the jerks. So frustrating . Back squats were good'n'heavy. That 89 triple wiped me out but I made it. Then BOOYAH MOTHAFUCKERS I came home and did a pull-up from a full hang. I can only do one of these when I'm super warmed up. I had a profound thought today: weightlifting is a physical solution to a physical problem. Repeating that to myself and just letting my body do its thang helped a lot. Have I mentioned I have a tendency to over-think things?
