I won't be at all disappointed if LBstone wins either. He's a really good ambassador for the sport, and I respect that a lot.

Ha ha. Prepare for disappointment then. Barring injury, he should be the man this year.

You are right. He should be. I don't mean to be a hater on him, I just like a lot of other guys more I should say. He will be very, very tough to beat- even on someone's very best day

Jared did you meet Lbstone at the Arnold? He comes across sort of brash, whiny, and full of himself on forums but in person goddamn if he isnt one of the nicest guys over 140kg that you'll ever meet. If he wins Ill be very happy for him. An example of how much this sport means to him. When he got the win at the Arnold and his name was announced his girlfriend broke down into a fit of tears and shouting. You'd have thought they just beat cancer. Seriously.

Pfister is just owning Pudzianowski in the prelims, and pudz is under 300lbs. Not looking great for him- I honestly think a top 5 would be tremendous for pudz this year

I did meet him at the arnold. He seemed really nice at the hotel and such. That is an example of how much the sport means to his girlfriend. I know it means a ton to him as well as many other athletes(look at travis, pudz, z), pudz last year in the plane pull. It is all of these guys lives pretty much.
Him not being on my highest fan list is because of how he is on the internet, yes. ya gotta respect what the guy does though- it's unbelievable what kind of #'s he hits.

ya but mariusz knows he only needs to be top two to move on and then all the points are reset. no point in blowing your load in the prelims. I wouldnt shove him off the podium just yet. you never know if hes gonna turn it on. Cuz he can.
How about Shaw giving Z trouble so far. cant wait for these finals for sure.

wow.. what an incredible final. Shaw is just tearing it up- making Z fight harder than he wanted I am sure. With mariusz less than 300lbs- I can't predict a top 2 finish for him. yadda yadda klavetter. we know.

Big Z will win....I promise.
When I met Pounstone he was a really nice guy. Of course he had just won the Arnold so I am sure he was in a great mood.
The problem I have with Poundstone is hypocrisy. He is a police officer and an has more than likely done some serious juice for his strongman career. I have no problem with Pro's and the whole juice thing, but I am sure he has busted people for a little personal use weed, and there is the problem. Major hypocrisy by him and other cops who do this.
Its nice to have a forum that can have open discussion and on this and not get banned….I am looking at you Chris M.

Wow. The problem with LBstone is hypocrisy? Humans in general are pretty adept at hypocrisy. Me in particular. I know I won't be judging anyone for their hypocrisy. No offense, man, just something to think about. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a Z fanatic - the one human I would still most like to meet. However, LBstone will only have to say "scoreboard" after this one.

Big props to the finalists this year. They all had to EARN it. I can't believe how well Dave O has rebounded! It should come down to the stones again this year. It's a golden age for pro strongman.

I am not judging LBstone and I didn't mean it to sounded that way. Like I said he is generally a good guy (ay least from my first impression when I met him) and a great strongman. What I was doing is making a point and observation. If you are going to be a cop you can't choose and pick which laws to enforce, and on who to enforce them on. If you do you lose your creditability. Yes we are all human and we all have faults but when you choose certain professions, or positions, you need to accept the responsibility that goes with it. Not doing so is why so many people have no confidence in the government and other institutions. Just something more to think about......

I guess I just don't understand why so many people rag on this guy. This is in reference mainly to some of the attacks on Marunde/Youtube, etc. - not your post specifically. Strongman is too small and fragile of a sport for us not to "stick together". But it's a great sport; that's why I respect the people who promote it so well and compete so well. It doesn't mean everyone is beyond reproach, but I don't think Derek deserves what he gets. Is he a little cocky? Yes. Like I've said on Marunde, most of the great ones (in any sport) are. That's why they are great when it counts. Pudzian is another guy that is cocky and flamboyant, but backs it up. Everyone rags on him as a result. Self-love is another part of the human condition (unfortunately). I'm totally infatuated with myself most of the time PS - sorry if the human nature stuff has been taken too far. True stuff though.
