Who is going to win?
don't even know who is there besides Mihalov and Blake..
My pick is...................
drum roll
1. Mihalov 2. Blake
Yeah.. there it is. It is simply a 255lb. man vs. a 215lb. man/half machine. The hungriest wolf always gets the prey, picking the underdog here...
pick em, I know its late, but pick em!

it wasn't 105kg worlds I dont think.. just "record breakers" event. But what numbers did you think were crazy high? I thought they were all in reason.. car deadlifts are always hard to judge cause of height/actual weight in hand, etc... other weights all seemed reasonable... 155kg max log won, and the farmers were very light..

Well, the write up on Ironmind seemed a little to brief but it was the only write up I could find. You are right about the deadlift, but that is the same "in hand" weight as WSM 2008 and Pudz and Lbstone tied for first with only 3 more reps than the 105k guy. But it could be considerably lighter in actuality.

True... I am guessing he wouldnt be able to really touch pudz considering pudz's experience in that event and on that apparatus. I am sure it may have been a similar set up, but I know there are a million variables on car deadlifts to take into account. Either way- that was a stacked field, and, I am not saying the numbers weren't impressive- its just I tihnk I have gotten used to seeing similar #'s from LW's (or very close)... which is freaky in itself.

I didn't see his videos before--- but I didnt realize the entire contest was with the equipment he trains on... (axle, yoke, frame, tombstone) I do think he was stronger and deserved to win, but, I also think that the equipment familiarity and ability to train on that equipment for a long time made it much more dominating than it would otherwise be.

Look in the video- its the exact same equipment that is in every single mihalov training video from the last half year.. its the worlds equipment that derek bought a while back... check out his training vids- you will see the exact same implements.. heck his profile pic on facebook is with that axle! and he does sick sick weights with that frame cause the handles are knurled as well (still pry has the best grip out of any LW)....

i don't want to take anything away from him- he would have won the contest regardless... just saying, I was shocked how he dominated THAT much.

I thought Mihalov could win, but not in the dominating fashion he did. I would have bet money Blake would win either the 4th or 5th event with his conditioning and freaky abilities.
