I have seen a kid doing a lift a couple of times I have not seen before. He is benching but his hands are backwards, like his palms are facing him. I have not seen this before, what would this work, tris? Have you done it, does it work?

This is a "Reverse Grip Bench Press." Generally yes, it is supposed to focus on your triceps more. I have tried it and don't really like the movement. I am kind of an old school guy when it comes to training anyway- but it was very awkward for me- as the bar lowered my elbows went out actually(because of how your hands/forearms/arms naturally are anyway- so it put me in a horrible position to press out of, and put more pressure on my wrists. Also, if the bar slips at all it's most likely to go on your throat because your hands will block it, but your thumb- who knows- whereas otherway around and it goes lower...
You can give it a shot for fun if you want- just make sure you never use a suicide grip(without a thumb around the bar).

Did you try them out? They are just funky to me haha. Not sure I've ever had anyone ask me "How much do you REVERSE bench?" haha! Although It looks like a fun lift.
