I deadlifted in a suit the other day and it was amazing! I did, however, miss a lift I thought I would for sure get. I'm blaming it on suit tightness since I about passed out just trying to get down to the bar. I think the biggest problem was having my belt at normal tightness. So, I was hoping for some tips and tricks on how to use the suit.

Really sit back, almost like you're trying to force yourself to sit in a chair. This is REALLY different and hard to do, but that where you'll get lbs from with the suit, your hips. To get used to this I would recomend you loosen the velcro straps and practice some reps around 80% of your raw max until you feel more comfortable. But to pull a PR number the first time you put it on is a really good sign.
With your weakness being off the floor I don't think it is unrealistic to get 80 lbs+ out of the suit for you. Also do fewer reps to reach your max attempt. As the suit will take alot out of you. Get warmed up more before starting deads, then single your way up to your attempt.
Also keep in mind the weight you missed was 75 lbs over your raw PR, so don't let it bother you.
I miss pulling in a suit once in awhile, it translated over well to my raw pull, but my strength is off the floor so I got very little out of it for the pain it caused:)
