Guys and gals,
What are some of the cues you use when you are hitting your best snatches? What things are you focusing on? Hips down, back flat, big breath, etc etc...
Just post whatever you try to remind yourself of before the lift/what ya feel during the lift during your most successful snatches, this could be very interesting and helpful!

Just learning, but this is what I know so far: Get excited, but not too fired up that I get light-headed during the lift. I usually hit a PR on my second try, after I settle down a bit lol. I usually am more successsful if I lift fairly quickly after getting my grip ready (don't overthink things). I would say I need speed off the floor and as the bar passes the knees to be successful. Keep shoulders over the bar so the second pull is strong.
These are evolving as I go and things like pushing off with the feet to get the bar started and keeping my hips lower will be things I work on in the near future. Obviously, I also will work on the shoulder flexibility and ability to catch the bar lower and get my head through.

Some things that help me are: - Rhythm--if I lose this it helps me to watch good lifters and videos to get it back.
- Hips down--dangit why do I always forget this?
- Curl hands over bar and keep shoulders over the bar.
- Be patient.
- Slow and then stop the bar when it comes down--don't let it crash.
- For both lifts it helps if I think of myself as a technician--my job is just to get the bar over my head. I know how to do the lift and I need to trust myself to do it.

a few that I have thought of before are: - do it fast, don't think - pull, catch - grip it and rip it - straight up - set tight - push the floor away - finish it

-Don't let the bar hit me on the head when I miss -Don't fall over backwards -Don't hit myself in the danger zone -Don't rip my thumb off -Don't dance with the barbell after it's overhead
I'll post some serious ones soon haha- but- those all have been serious thoughts I have had at one point or another.
