5/10/10
foam roller warmups
farmers handles deadlifts (each handle is 100lbs) handles/15 190/11 210/11 belt on (playing it smart) 250/6 270/4 (video) 290/2 (video) 300/1 PR (video)
widegrip pullups 3 sets/BW
ab pulldowns 8x25/65
*this was my first time using my farmers handles that i bought from Jared.i thought i did pretty well, especially since i haven't done any type of deadlift since February 5.i love these handles.once i get used to picking them we will take them outside and practice running with them.my grip felt as strong as ever.even with the 300lbs a side it felt just as strong as it did with the 250lbs a side.everything feels fine,no pain.so hopefully i feel good tomorrow too, with no problems.i got my fingers crossed.
for anyone who wants to see the videos,go to anabolex.com,go to the strongman/powerlifting forum, find the log titled *Keeping It Simple* and click on the last post and there it is.
there is also a video of a static hold i did last tuesday with 95lb dumbells for 2:05 which is a new PR for me.i had to break the 2 minute mark, which i did.

That is awesome stuff Connie. Pretty freaky, especially for your limited use of farmers. That's some good stuff. Yous hould try to see how long you can hold 300!

I really believe you have a calling in the grip world... I don't just toot people's horns for the heck of it. I am serious- you could do some serious damage at various grip events!!
On a side note guys- his hands are HUGE. They completely dwart mine. Big and meaty... I felt like a child shaking his hands haha. You have some big time potential I think Connie. I still think you should keep doing what you are doing training wise, but, maybe start flirting with more grip stuff here and there.... Looks like you have been but maybe from a more serious standpoint!

Haha. Wow Connie! Why didn't I think of that - you should start to train for grip contests. They are actually getting quite organized - kind of a fledgling new sport like Strongman used to be. We saw a pretty cool grip contest at the Arnold this year. That's how big it's getting.
You have great side handled deadlift strength for not training deads recently. Start by doing some timed holds and get some video. Just watch the strain on your neck. It would be cool to see how much you could double overhand deadlift with a 2" axle too.

Yous hould try to see how long you can hold 300!thanks Jared.i thought about that myself on Monday.maybe something to think about next time i attempt 300.i have a starting point to work with now,so i think i'm going to start a 5/3/1 program for those farmers deadlifts.i love to pull, and doing it from the side with the farmers handles doesn't hurt my lower back at all,and it will also strengthen my grip.so i'm going to keep doing them, and eventually we'll take them outside and practice running with them.they really worked my traps and rear shoulders and upper back.my traps are just wrecked, worse than any amount of shrugs i've EVER done.i liked it alot.
