Is this your first time doing the routine? I would say 25lbs. is a very promising increase. 10-15lbs. is pry just wasting your time and 40-50 can be over ambitious for some. I would say 25 is a safe increase. I think I did 30 for my 2nd one and ended up hitting about 45-50 higher than my prev. PR. I'd say it is just right. I agree.. If someone promised me a 25lb increase in my deadlift every 6 months I would take it no questions asked.. Its a good number... then you can break from it like Jared said and hit it again and that would be another 25lb.. so 50lb before September and you will be knocking on 600 before the end of the year.. doesnt sound too bad does it?

I got something that will guarantee you a 50lbs increase in your deadlift. But, Mathison, you did ask a bunch of questions

I have a feeling your "secret" is going to be not so much of a secret and be something like "use the C/P routine and plug in a 50lb. jump ahaha! Although, you seem to have dialed it in very well your last few cycles king

Yeah sticking with a program, any program is key. 50lbs increase isn't that much especially for a novice

I challenge you.. At the end of the 12 weeks.. Take a week off and lets hit some max deads.. I have my own plan ive been working on over here that involves very little deadlifting but is aimed at increasing my max to a 605 double..
I challenge you to hit your 25lb increase after 12 weeks and a week off and ill hit my numbers... At your gym.. Are you up to it?

very interesting. We got a coan phillipi routine where you deadlift until you can't anymore, and C MATH's approach where the philosophy is "to get a stronger deadlift, don't do deadlifts that much." I would assume you are hitting front squats and some pretty heavy posterior chain work to make up for it?
I just like looking at the philosophy's at how people got to where they are- will be kinda cool to follow.

GHR's and core work with a layoff from deadlifts got me my 585 after a month.

wow... GHR's seem to be the cats meow if you haven't done them consistently before. I remember Kevin Nee talking about how that was his big exercise that really increased his DL... And I'd say he's a pretty good deadlifter haha. I know when my front squat goes up so does my pressing and deadlift, the quad power really has a lot of carryover to those 2 from my personal experience.

What is the barbell toss? Just pressing it and chucking it as high as you can?

yeah it's in the smith rack...
Deadlift: (85%) 1x1@470 Speed Deadlift: (70%) 6x3@385
Circuit... 3x Stiff Leg: 3x8@225 Rows: 3x8@160 Pulldowns: 3x8@?? Good mornings: 3x8@95
This was really grueling today... that initial 470 felt really heavy plus some douche asked me to be more quite... they just don't understand
