Im having a problem with pain/bruising in the hip crease area from extending violently into the bar. I've been continuing to train through this because I just can't afford to stop snatching. Any thoughts, solutions, or insight on this?? I'm sure everyone struggles with this at some point if not everyday like how it's been with me lately.
-I should mention about a month ago I switched from 3-4 days a week to 6-7 days a week(doing the classic lifts and squat every workout)
-And If I'm a pussy just let me know and I'll never speak of this again lol.

Hi Ben, are you Jason's brother? First off I just wanna say good choice on sticking with the Olympic lifts and squats and doing them more often. As far as the hip pain I would say you aren't timing the hip thrust correctly. What you are doing is probably more of a banging rather than a meet and greet. Here is a link to a Bulgarian who talks a little about it at around 1:35. Good to see a Wetzel on this forum. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC69zUozSEw&list=FL_BEcAfmMmyd7Z7UrLYZD0A&index=5

lol, I am actually from wisconsin and I am planning on moving out west later when I have a little more money. I am just a random aspiring weightlifter who found this because I'm familiar with Jared Enderton and wanted to be a part of a quality forum to back up some of my questions/concerns.
-Thanks for the Dimov Interview. This all seems right to me. I've been noticing when I have great snatches there is no pain. Because the timing was perfect. Sometimes I cut the first pull a little short and "force it" instead of letting it happen. This is definitely something I need to work on, and do work on. I am a better snatcher than C&J but I lack true consistency. If I can figure out a way to be as consistent in the snatch as I am in the C&J I will be a very good snatcher very soon. Thanks again for the feedback.
