6/30/10
30mins elliptical -------------------- 7/1/10
30mins treadmill --------------------- foam roller warmups (stretching/BW lunges/light RDL's)
TRUCK PULLS
1994 Ford F350 FIRE TRUCK,500 gallon tank 15,000lbs with a full tank 2 guys inside about 15,400lbs total weight pulled
1st Pull:100 feet/41 seconds
2nd Pull:100 feet/35 seconds (have video)
***i have a video of the second pull, but it's on my captain's phone.he is going to email it to me tonight, and i will try to figure out how to get it online (probably not).if i can't figure it out,and any of you want to see it,PM me your email address and i'll send it to you after he emails it to me.
***i love these truck pulls.last week,i was able to get my Blazer rolling without a rope to pull on.but the fire truck weighs 10,000lbs more than my Blazer, and at only 218lbs bodyweight,i guess i just don't have enough torque to get that thing rolling continuously.i tried once, and i got it about 10 feet, but then it stopped dead, and my shoes were literally skidding out on the road.so we decided to hook a big ass tow rope up to the front of Lance's truck, have him park out in front pretty far,to the length of the tow rope, and i'd pull on the rope to get the fire truck moving.it worked great,i had that thing rolling at 6 miles an hour the second time.it was a little bit of a slow start though, because i didn't have all of the slack out of the rope, and i wasn't high enough to get a good lean on it.i don't know if these times are any good or not,or if 100 feet is long enough (Jared is it long enough???) but at least i have a starting point now.next week should be alot better.
***PS-i'm having LOTS of fun ;D

***was supposed to do farmers walks today.i did a couple warmup walks with 100 then 150,then went to 200 and something in the lower left side of my neck didn't like what i was doing,so i shut it down.no need to injure myself badly because i felt it pull.it hurt pretty bad and is still pretty sore.i'll have to wait until next week sometime to try them again.hopefully this isn't bad and doesn't set me back any.

had a family accident over the weekend.nothing too serious, but it's definitely going to affect my training schedule this week, and possibly longer.the SM meet isn't a sure thing right now,and i had to shut down all training at my house for the time being.i don't like doing that, but it is what it is.

Dang Connie, you have a heck of a grip on you!! I bet that was way easy for ya too. Thanks for the videos!! How is your back doing by the way? thanks Jared.yeah the 340 was easy.i'm going to try to shrug and hold 350 tomorrow.i really like holding the contraction at the end, pumps my traps full of blood and also has been helping my grip strength and forearm growth.my forearms have grown some over the winter.the right one is now 16",but the left is still far behind at just over 15 1/2". my back is doing great lately as i have been really focusing on my core work, which in turn has really helped out my squat strength.i have been squatting since January, and its been going great.i hit 405 5wks ago on a max day.that was a big milestone for me,considering all the injuries i've had.since i hadn't had any real heavy weight on my shoulders since that day,i decided to try a few singles yesterday.they all went pretty good and i feel great today, which is a plus.375 felt pretty good after all that work i had done before that rep,so i know i've gone up in strength since the day i hit 405.i don't think i'll ever reach the 500lb+ squat strength i had back 2yrs ago before i hurt my back, but i'm very happy with my progress so far.and i'm remaining injury free as well so i'm very happy with that.i deload every 4th week,so that has been helping greatly.i foam roll my back daily,as well as ice it after every squat session. i will be judging an IBPA Squat Only meet on May 21,and i would also like to compete if i can.i have never squatted in a competition before,so i would really like the chance to do so one time.my son will be squatting that day,so i'm really excited about that.as it gets closer to the May 21 i'll decide whether or not to compete.as long as i'm feeling good i probably will.i don't really care about the weight class.my weight this morning, fasted was 223lbs.so if i'm around the 220lb mark,i'll probably cut off a few lbs just to make the 220 division, but we'll see.

Legit squats Connie! Those definitely were some very good looking, deep squats. That kid is working! Very nice. I think you are building a little machine there.
