Hey-I was just wanting to see if you all can pass the word on to the guys in your training groups about Missouri's strongest Man: the Gus Lohman Memorial on June 12. We have cool new equipment, lots of great stuff in the raffle, goodie bags for the competitors, and cool awards. Should be a very fun contest, with a head to head bus pull, conan's wheel, farmers /sled drag medley (using oxygen tank farmers), a giant keg load medley (with 8-10 kegs), and a circus dumbel clean and press for reps. Top 3 competitors will get awards and qualify for nationals. Please pass on the info to guys in you all's training groups. We have lots of cool stuff set up, but it wont be much of a show without competitors. ET 5000
The contest is listed on the NAS site. I really believe this will be an outstanding show and hope some of the strongmen on this board will attend. I think it is right around Kansas City this year.
Thanks

Just weightlifting for now. Did strongman for almost 10 years, so the break has been fun and very interesting. I've always really liked and respected weightlifting. May go back to strongman in the future. Who knows?

sounds like a good plan.
I'd still like to give strongman a run, but don't really know how to go about it without you or Jared doing it.

There are 2 guys in Jesup who train for strongman religiously.. Colin Wetlaufer (A board member) and Phil Martin.. you could definitely ask them if you get more curious to give strongman a more serious run...

Thanks Collin. I very well may, but it would probably be a bit yet. Wanna stick to oly lifting for a little bit yet, then make sure my shoulder is atleast decent.

Well that would be a heck of a competition internally in the farmers. Mr. Martin is awfully good at farmers as well.
As long as there is no turn I can be at least competitive.
