Hey bear... just wanna give you some props for the site (awesome!) and wishing ya good luck on it!! but so.... ha, we're not quite as into the training as you are... lol, but any good just general workouts you reccomend for me this summer? Looking for something that'll be like 3 (maybe 4) days a week for around an hour or so... I'll be swinging sledge hammer through the days at work, and hit the weightroom on my way home..
Thanks!

correct. but that brings up a good point too! i need to find somethin for conditioning! can't run, can't swim, can't even do hard or much bike... i do some swimming down here- like just with my arms..... but ha, not fun.... i do the plate workout and we have been doing like kinda more 'muscle conditioning' type workouts (i.e. doing like 100 pull ups (doin 'L' ones as long as we can) and 100 dips as fast as we can... or like we have one where you lift a dumbell from the floor straight out away from your body, bring it in (KINDA like a full curl), then pump it straight up above your head, and then reverse the motion back down.... do 20 of those each arm, then like 30 push ups.. do 4 sets of those back and forth....) but need somethin to get my body in shape.....
Could also use some new ab workouts... but there's enough of them i can find online....

Alright- I got ya covered. That is good insight into your training- so more endurance stuff- basically no heavy lifting as of right now? Is there a reason for this- just like doing higher rep stuff? I'm just curious...if you want to pack on some muscle- switch to lower rep stuff- even 4-12 reps. I will post a few examples of a training regimen for you- that you could use and toy with.

ummmm.... yeah- kinda since i wasn't able to do any like running/biking/nothin... needed something for conditioning... and we (my roomate and i) both agree the change up is nice from the repetitive bench, curl, press,...... that we've been doing for how many years! ha...

Give me some of your goals- just " get in shape", "get stronger" "get bigger" get a bigger bench, get more ripped- give me something to work with here... then I can give you a better program...

haha, beach bod is always on the back of my mind.... like i'm not training FOR anything ya know.. no competitions or sports anymore... but don't just wanna get like ripped with 'fake' muscle... i want true strength.. so i'd say strength and in shape... like i feel like i've got hella abs (do a million reps) but like not toned abs.... idk... otherwise also with a focus on inner chest (for me) and meg likes tri's..

I tell ya what Ole... I will give you some workouts to do on ONE condition:
You AND your roommate keep a training journal on here- to keep track of your progress, etc...
ok- I'll settle for just your training journal...

I am looking to build my chest up.some exercises to do would be great. right now i do chest twice a week. and a variety of workouts that i switch between in the tow days. i do db decline,db incline,db bench,db flys, db incline flys, machine flys, cable cross overs. i also workout at a gym that doesn't offer free weights except for dumbbells. everything else is machine. and i know having a big chest is through your genes but is there anyway to speed the process up a little bit?haha. im also taking serious mass twice a day, and no-shotgun before every workout.so if there any exercises better than what im doing please let me know.

I have a few recommendations Brock:
1. Switch gyms immediately. Seriously. 2. I am not kidding about #1
In order to get a bigger chest, and fast, you must put some stress on it. Doing DB flies, cable crossovers, etc, is not going to do it. By stress I mean put some heavy weight on the bar and see what you can do! It needs to be shocked. I am not sure how heavy your DB presses are- but- I am guessing they only have light DB's. I would honestly switch gyms to one that you can lift heavy at- bench- incline bench- decline bench- close grip bench- squats, deadlifts, presses, etc. When you go with such light exercises like DB flies, etc- you are not really exerting that much effort- your muscles are not working that hard. When you put on say 175lbs. on the bench and do as many reps as you can- now you are working, exerting max effort with a maximal weight.
See what I mean? You should really change gyms--- that will be the first step to solving the problem!

when i do dumbell bench i've been increasing every week. this last week i started with 55x10,60x8,65x6. and for flys i also increase everytime. i dont want to switch gyms coz this one is free and it's where i work. any other places are so damn expensive down here. but i'll be working out all summer in algona at the Y. and they have free weights so that'll help.
